How real and true are the methods of obtaining things "The Secret" book talks about?

Has anyone had success when believing/ following these methods? Does the book just explain them or is it about some sort of story?

I think that 'The Secret' is just a way of thinking and I guess it could work for some people. I definitely think that thinking positively is good, but I do not know if 'The Secret' is 100% true. However for some, it could work, who knows.

The Secret is incredibly general and nothing revolutionary. It's just a cleverly packaged self-motivation book that happened to catch on with people somehow – I'm not even sure how. Was it an Oprah's book club book or something? (I'm a little out of the loop with this stuff)
