Does the book "The Secret" even work?

I recently bought the book "The Secret" and before I even get into reading it, I'm wondering if it even works. If so, what are some key points that I can take from this book? I really want things to start working out for me, but I don't want to waste my time if it's nothing but mumbo jumbo.

I have friends who swear by it. I say knowledge and hard work will get you whatever you want. You said you want things to start working out for you. What do you want? How can you get it? Its great to think positive thoughts, but those alone wont get it for you. There is no SECRET, its just hard work, and most people wont do what they have to to get what they want. So they buy books to read that make them feel better for a few minutes. Read it and see what YOU think. Its a lot of affirmations and positive thinking. It can be really inspirational, but dont forget about hard work and staying focused!

    Well…if for nothing else…it sure worked for the author! But probably like a pyramid scheme…only the top wins!

    It holds some good advice, but here is a free read that will give you a much deeper and more potent way to improve yourself and your life.

    "Gospel Enigma: and the Young Heretics."

    Find it at the top of New Free Books. It's a great read too.
