The Secret Secret

Is it worth reading?

I read the book first and loved it. Then I watched the DVD and it gave me a chance to further anchor the ideas and to see the teachers who are in the book. Seeing them and hearing their voices helped me remember and apply what I had learned in the book.

Some people are too critical and too hard on this book. What's wrong with thinking love instead of hate, abundance instead of lack, and working proactively instead of being against everything? The people who react so negatively to the concepts in this book are precisely the people who need it the most! The information in the book is only as good as the effort you use to apply it. If you're skeptical and critical, sure–it isn't going to work for you–only against you!

Rhonda Byrne comes right out and lists many of the people through the ages who knew "The Secret" which is really the Law of Attraction. She never maintains that "The Secret" is something she invented or made up. The Law of Attraction has biblical origins. The reason it's called "The Secret" isn't because it is the "shhhh!" kind of secret, but because the Law of Attraction is the secret to living happily and with an abundance of good things of many kinds.

This book is definitely worth reading. This book is very inspirational, positive, and uplifting–an easy read for the most part. You dont realize how powerful your thoughts are until you read this book

Yes!!! What a great movie.. we got it online and watched it, then we bought the DVD. We also have the CD to listen to in the car or even while we sleep….. It was a great movie…and the woman who was the one with blond hair at the begining who got the note from her daughter that said she needed to find out about the secret….well that is how it happened…thats the same woman it happened to and she wrote the book and produced the movie….made the whole thing more "real" for me to have the actual woman be in the movie. If you haven't seen the movie yet, check it out!! It will change your life!

Has anyone had success when believing/ following these methods? Does the book just explain them or is it about some sort of story?

I think that 'The Secret' is just a way of thinking and I guess it could work for some people. I definitely think that thinking positively is good, but I do not know if 'The Secret' is 100% true. However for some, it could work, who knows.

I think it is wonderful. It helps me alot and gives me energy. I feel good when i watch it.

I recently bought the book "The Secret" and before I even get into reading it, I'm wondering if it even works. If so, what are some key points that I can take from this book? I really want things to start working out for me, but I don't want to waste my time if it's nothing but mumbo jumbo.

I have friends who swear by it. I say knowledge and hard work will get you whatever you want. You said you want things to start working out for you. What do you want? How can you get it? Its great to think positive thoughts, but those alone wont get it for you. There is no SECRET, its just hard work, and most people wont do what they have to to get what they want. So they buy books to read that make them feel better for a few minutes. Read it and see what YOU think. Its a lot of affirmations and positive thinking. It can be really inspirational, but dont forget about hard work and staying focused!

I'm reading one of Jerry and Esther Hicks' books and am skeptical. Early in the book a supreme being called Abraham is introduced. The book essentially promotes a way of life. I'm OK with books that promote a suggested way of life. I may choose to agree or disagree. No one is putting a gun to my head. However, I don't understand the need to create a character named Abraham. I wonder if it's a way to make the book seem more credible. What are your thoughts on this?

Esther did not "create' a supreme being!
Esther channels a group of ..not supreme beings….but non-physical teachers! For our need to give everything a label they called themselves collectivley Abraham.
